F.A.S.T. Response LLC is owned and operated by Marine Corp Veteran and Active Duty Law Enforcement Sergeant Al Schultz and offers experienced and customized Facilities Assessment, Security Training, & Active Threat Response Solutions for private, government, and public facilities and entities.

We also offer law enforcement only trainings and expert witness services in law enforcement and special operations.

Al Schultz has worked in law enforcement since 2000, the events of 9/11 serving as a catalyst to not only change careers but to pursue a career in law enforcement Special Operations.  Al has had an expansive career in special operations.  He has worked on the ground in Special Investigations, handling and developing confidential informants and conducting under cover operations.  He has spent several years assigned to the DEA as a Task Force Officer, planning, writing, and executing hundreds of warrants.  He has extensive experience in patrol operations and served many years as a patrol officer, as well as a patrol supervisor. 

 

He is experienced in complex criminal investigations, human trafficking, large drug investigations, homicide investigations, and has overseen the criminal investigation division of a large municipal department, including supervising the Special Victim’s Unit and Special Investigations.

Al has over 14 years of experience as an operational member of a large municipality SWAT team, serving as a breacher, assaulter, Assistant Team Leader, and as Team Leader.  He has served as a SWAT Sniper and as the Sniper Element Team Leader.  Among others, Al is trained in Armored Rescue Vehicle Operations, High Risk Warrant Service and Operational Planning, Counter Terrorism, Advanced SWAT Tactics, Advanced Sniper training, and has participated in Mirror Image Counter Terror training.  Al has received formal training both through law enforcement special operations, the US Secret Service, and through professional private security firms regarding planning, scouting, and conducting dignitary and executive protection details.  He has attended Flying While Armed Training through the Department of Homeland Security and attended US Federal Air Marshall Training.

 

Al has an extensive list of certifications to lead and instruct 

  • Certified Police Sniper Training Instructor through the Center Mass Training Institute

  • Certified Team Leader and in Advanced Tactics and Operations Planning through the National Tactical Officers Association and Washington State Tactical Officers Association.

  • Certified Master Control Tactics/Defensive Tactics Instructor through the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission

  • Specialized Instructor for Law Enforcement and SWAT through the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission

  • Certified instructor in all disciplines of law enforcement CT/DT Tactics (baton, edged weapons defense, OC spray, weapon retention, ground survival, take down defense, cuffing, etc.) through the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission

  • Taught at the Washington State Basic Law Enforcement Academy on topics such as Control Tactics, Defensive Tactics, OC (pepper spray). 

  • Certified Instructor for Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Levels 1 and 2 and Arrestling Levels 1 and 2. 

  • Certified Rappel Master

  • Certified Reality Based Training Instructor

  • Extensive experience developing the training for SWAT, Special Investigations and Patrol, and in planning and coordinating multi-jurisdiction regional training exercise operations that incorporate all facets of local government infrastructure, including law enforcement, fire departments, coast guard, school authorities, local malls and business complexes, state departments of transportation (including ferries, buses, airplanes, and trains), as well as federal entities including, FBI, Secret Service, DEA, and ATF.

 

Personally, Al Schultz resides in Kitsap County, WA with his wife and two young sons and spends his free time as an avid hunter and fisherman.
